Dr. Jeffrey Nelson is the owner of Granite City Pet Hospital. Dr. Nelson received his undergraduate degree in Biology from St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. In 1999, he received his Doctorate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota. His areas of interest include small animal orthopedics, internal medicine, and minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopy, arthroscopy, and ultrasound.
Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, together with their children, Kaitlyn, Benjamin, Alex, and Will. The Nelson family also includes two Boxers named Wheeler and Piper and their cat Maya.
Roberto Cediel, MS, DVM
Dr. Roberto Cediel was born in Colombia, South America where he spent most of his childhood and teenage years. He relocated to Minnesota for his high school and college education where he attended St. Cloud State University for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. His Masters degree focused on studying Hawaiian waterfall climbing fishes in Hilo, Hawaii. After graduate school, he attended the University of Illinois for his degree in Veterinary Medicine where he served as the student director for the University of Illinois PetLoss Helpline. Prior to joining our team, Dr. Roberto was in general practice in the suburbs of Chicago for five years and also served as the Chief Medical Officer for Helping Paws Animal Shelter in Woodstock, Illinois.
Dr. Roberto enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and has a strong interest in ultrasound, surgery and dentistry. He has completed multiple continuing education courses on these fields and is an active member of the American Veterinary Dental Society. He enjoys client interaction and education with both English and Spanish speaking clients.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Roberto enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda, their daughter Olivia, and their pets. He is an avid soccer fan and loves sharing his Colombian culture through music and dance. Dr. Roberto loves to travel, spend time outdoors and follows Formula One Racing. Kristin Lindquist, DVM
Dr. Kristin Lindquist received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota in 2004. She then completed an internship in small animal surgery and medicine at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Tampa, FL in 2005. Dr. Kristin then moved back to Minnesota where her family resides and has worked full time in private practice in the Twin Cities. In 2009 Dr. Kristin successfully completed her PennHIP certification in Washington DC offered by the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. In 2011, Dr. Kristin started an in-home euthanasia service called Private Pet Passing, Inc. and continues to offer this special service.
Over the past several years, Dr. Kristin has helped us here at Granite City Pet Hospital working relief hours. She enjoys the high quality of medicine, excellent staff, and great clientele at Granite City Pet Hospital. She gladly accepted the opportunity to work here part time. Dr. Kristin shares her home with 2 Norwegian Forest Cats, Leo and Ellie. She also enjoys being active. Some of her favorite activities include scuba diving, skiing, traveling, and camping.
